FAQs

We understand that finding the right therapist and support for your child can be a daunting experience, which is why we've included a list of frequently asked questions about our therapies and services.

  • How do I make an appointment?
Please use the contact form at the bottom of this page, or email hello@amazetherapy.com. Email is the most efficient way to get in contact with us and we endeavour to respond either by phone or email within 24 hours.
  • Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral to see any allied health professionals at our clinic. If you do have a referral or letter from your doctor or another therapist, please let us know at the time of enquiry so that we can better understand your child's needs. Some GP referrals may be accompanied by Medicare plans that have a rebate attached for a set amount of settings.
  • Can you visit my child at home or at school?
We have our clinic space in Kenmore, and where possible, do encourage families to attend the clinic. This assists with routine, minimizes distractions, helps with resourcing and is a more efficient use of family and therapist time and funding. We do have a number of local schools in the area that we have a relationship with. Students at these schools or daycare facilities may be seen at their school, scheduled back-to-back, and benefit from reduced travel rates capped at $20. Please be aware that travel fees do still apply as most schools do charge for use of a space. We may consider seeing your child at their school (other than those included above) or home by special request. However, appropriateness of this needs to be evaluated by your therapist, and regular therapy rates will apply for travel time in these cases.
  • Where are you located?
We have a multidisciplinary therapy clinic in Kenmore, as well as a home-based clinic in Bellbowrie still available on request for Speech Pathology services.
  • Can I use my NDIS or other funding sources for therapy?
At this time, our clinic provides services to NDIS funded clients who are self-managed or plan managed. We are not an NDIS registered organisation for a number of reasons. However due to this, therapy rates remain the same whether a family is funded or not, where possible. Other funding options for Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy include private health extras cover, and the Medicare complex disease management plan that is available through discussion with your GP. Both rebates are available by claiming after payment using your paid receipt. Please note that Music Therapy is unfortunately not covered by private health or Medicare plans because music therapists are not issued provider numbers at this time. It is however covered by NDIS funding and appropriate for targeting a wide range of goals on your existing NDIS plan.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Bank transfer, Visa, MasterCard or a Visa/MC Debit card. Our system uses Tyro Health to manage card payments and Medicare claims. This system is capable of securely storing a credit card for future sessions. We are also able to send an SMS payment link to your phone if you do not have your card details. Payment plans and direct debit arrangements (using credit card details) are available on enquiry to help out busy families.
  • Do you offer discounts for multiple therapies or siblings?
Discounts are available for more than one session per week, siblings, pre-paying for a 10 session or term block, group sessions (dependent on number of participants when not an advertised group rate). Please contact us directly to discuss your individual situation.
  • Can we bring other siblings along to appointments?
We are a very family friendly environment - you are likely to see our own families helping out on occasion. Siblings are welcome in the sessions when it is not too distracting for the child doing the session. We also have a waiting area that is set up to accommodate for and entertain children of all ages prior to their sessions, or during their sibling's sessions.
