Frequently Asked Questions
At Amaze we believe in providing transparent information about our fees so families can make informed decisions with confidence. If you have any questions or need help understanding your options, we're always here to assist.
To make an appointment, you can either contact us via the enquiry form on our website, or drop us an email at hello@amazetherapy.com.
As soon as we receive your enquiry, we’ll do our best to get back to you within 24 business hours.
You do not need a referral to see any allied health professionals at our clinic.
If you do have a referral or letter from your doctor or another therapist, please let us know at the time of enquiry so that we can better understand your child's needs. Some GP referrals may be accompanied by Medicare plans that have a rebate attached for a set amount of settings.
Our multidisciplinary therapy clinic is located at 11/9 Princeton St, Kenmore QLD 4069, with parking available, entering from either Princeton Street or Brookfield Road.
All our Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Music Therapists are fully certified and registered practitioners in Queensland.
Our Speech Pathologists are members of Speech Pathology Australia and meet the national standards for professional practice.
Occupational Therapists are registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and comply with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) requirements.
Our Music Therapists are certified by the Australian Music Therapy Association, ensuring they adhere to national professional and ethical standards.
This means you can be confident that our therapists provide safe, high-quality care for your family based on current best practices.
AHAs or Allied Health Assistants help deliver therapy programs under the supervision of a qualified therapist. They:
Do not assess, diagnose, discharge, or plan therapy independently
Do carry out therapy sessions based on plans written by your therapist
Are supervised regularly—our team reviews therapy plans with AHAs at least weekly
Do not need to be physically supervised during sessions
We employ local speech pathology students as AHAs. These students:
Have academic and clinical experience in paediatric speech therapy
Work under close supervision from our speech pathology team
Provide therapy in a similar model to university student clinics (e.g., UQ), but with a higher level of therapist involvement and support
Benefit from gaining real-world experience, while helping us grow the next generation of speech pathologists
AHA sessions can be a helpful addition to your child’s therapy plan. They offer:
Faster access to support: In some cases, AHA sessions can help reduce wait times. After your child completes an initial assessment and therapy plan with a qualified therapist, an AHA can begin working with them to implement that plan. This allows therapy to begin sooner, while still being guided and regularly reviewed by your therapist.
Support between therapist-led sessions: AHA sessions are a cost-effective way to increase the frequency of therapy, helping to maintain consistency and momentum. They are not a replacement for therapist-led sessions, but a way to reinforce and extend the work done by your therapist.
Greater flexibility with NDIS funding: Because AHA sessions are more affordable, they can help families make the most of their funding without compromising on quality. Every AHA works under close supervision, with regular input from your child’s therapist to ensure alignment with therapy goals.
We generally encourage families to attend appointments on-site in Kenmore. Attending the clinic supports the establishment of a consistent routine, reduces distractions, facilitates access to therapy resources, and promotes efficient use of time and funding for both families and therapists.
For mobile sessions, we have established relationships with several local schools and daycare centers within the 4069 and 4070 postcodes. Students at these locations may receive therapy on-site.
Please note that additional travel fees apply for these visits, and we require that any mobile sessions are paid for by an arranged direct deposit plan/stored card details.
In all cases, your therapist will assess the suitability of these arrangements and work with you to identify options and related fees.
Our clinic provides services to NDIS funded clients who are self-managed or plan managed. While we are not a registered NDIS provider, this allows us to offer flexible services and, where possible, keep therapy rates consistent regardless of whether a family is using NDIS funding or paying privately.
Additional funding options for Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy may include:
Private health insurance with extras cover (subject to your policy)
Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management Plan, which can be arranged in consultation with your GP
Both Medicare and private health rebates can be claimed directly through your provider after payment using your receipt.
Please note that Music Therapy is not currently eligible for Medicare or private health rebates, as music therapists are not issued provider numbers. However, Music Therapy is covered under NDIS plans and can support a wide range of developmental, emotional, and functional goals depending on your existing plan.
AHA sessions currently can be claimed through NDIS funding as a Level 2 support.
Currently, AHA sessions are not eligible for rebates through private health insurance or Medicare. Their lower fee reflects these funding limitations, making them a more affordable option for families using NDIS.
For privately paying or self-managed families, our preferred payment method for payment on the day of service is using your Visa, MasterCard or a Visa/MC Debit card. Our system uses Tyro Health to manage card payments and Medicare claims. This system is capable of securely storing a credit card for future sessions. We are also able to send an SMS payment link to your phone if you do not have your card details.
Bank transfer payment is also available upon request.
Payment plans and direct debit arrangements (using credit card details) are available on enquiry to help out busy families.
Siblings are welcome to join sessions when it’s appropriate and not too distracting for the child receiving therapy. We also offer a comfortable waiting area designed with children in mind, with activities and resources to help keep them entertained before their session or while waiting for a sibling.
A cancellation fee of 100% of the scheduled service charge for all clients applies to all sessions where reasonable notice is not provided. Cancellation must be received by 9am on the day before your scheduled appointment to not incur a fee.
Our current clinic policy that currently allows for 1 x cancellation fee per calendar year to be waived due to sickness or unexpected circumstances. This is clinic wide, not per discipline. The clinic will also keep record of this. A cancellation within 2 hours of the appointment or a non-attendance is considered a no-show and is unable to be waived.
No cancellation fee will be charged if it is possible to reschedule your appointment before the next scheduled appointment. Please note that only one reschedule is permitted per originally scheduled appointment.
In lieu of your cancelled appointment, a phone call or telehealth service, resourcing, reporting, or other non-face-to-face services are available to be utilized in your scheduled timeslot. Please let your therapist or administration know if you would like to utilize this option.
Cancellation can be received by text message, email, phone call, voicemail message or verbally.
Clinicians can waive cancellation fees under emergency circumstances, with Director approval.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you know you will be absent. Outside of business hours, please cancel by emailing hello@amazetherapy.com or messaging 0436 276 590.
